Born & raised on a Holly Farm in Pleasant Hill, Oregon. I had no idea that I would one day return to the area and operate my own business. After attending the U of O and graduating with honors I moved to Southern California in search of work.
I entered the sign trade as an apprentice for L.A. Signs & Graphics under the tutelage of master signcrafter - John Studden. He was extremely helpful in teaching me various skills in the trade and I soon was in love with the craft. Working for that company gave me a great foundation and was instrumental in preparing for the future.
In 1992, I made the move back to the Pacific Northwest settling in Ashland. I was hired to start up and manage two new sign companies. In 1994, a client (now friend) Tom Towler, a true sign-writer approached me and offered to help me start a sign business of my own. With the abundance of sign companies out there I saw the need to offer something that was getting lost in many of the quick service shops of today, that is custom sign craftsmanship and the need to develop a niche in the market by creating signs that incorporate carved, dimensional or gilded features. I try to incorporate unique designs with bold, dimensional components, I strive to have my designs stand out and make an impact.
After much consideration I moved home to Lane County in 2003. Since then
I have been continually showered by an outpouring of blessings; living
closer to my brother and his family, having my own business and being
able to have my first home - recently relocated to our beautiful new
studio/workshop located in the Historic Thurman House (The Old Ruthie
B Antique's House) God continues to show his faithfulness by providing
great clients, unique and challenging work and the opportunity to be
with my family more.
